Brothers Lee and Jamie were keen to get their Dad, Roger, into fly fishing.

Being fishers for most of their lives and having tried all sorts before, they thought Dad, Tasmania, trout and fly fishing should be brought together.

A good day for all, with each getting into good wild brown trout, a break off, missed and sighted feeders.

All taken on unweighted nymphs mainly fished to sighted trout.

Hailing from Montana, USA, David enjoyed a day on one of Tasmania’s small, rain-swollen trout streams chasing wild browns, and a rainbow.

Aa bit of early action, above, retrieved e a lively wild brown.

Upstream small bead head nymphing was the technique of choice and a few small but frisky fish soon to hand.

A quick bit of ‘high sticking’ was needed here to keep the fast moving rainbow under control.
