Warmer, wetter Spring forecast bodes well for dry fly action

The latest medium-term weather outlook for Spring in Tasmania is a wetter but warmer one. This should translate into an early start to the lowlands mayfly/dry fly season.

Forecasts like this usually mean more water in the streams and mayfly nymph on the move sooner than the norm in the warmer conditions. So it could be that we will have some hatches and rising trout before the end of September.

If you get in quick, late September and the first half of October have excellent times available … in this case the early angler may well catch the early risers.
