Some recent feedback from clients:
I would like to thank you very much for the couple of days that you took me out on what to me, was the best and productive water that I have ever had the pleasure to fish on, and I commend you on running a very professional and friendly business.
I also appreciated all your years of experience, and for your ability to pass as much of that experience on to me in such a short time. I certainly had the best two days fishing I have had ( in my somewhat limited fly fishing experience) to date.
I will be looking for a fishing companion to bring down your way for the weekend package and will be in touch

Dear Roger, I want to thank you to introducing me to Tasmania fly fishing. As a somewhat seasoned fly fishing aficionado I found it to be an absolutely amazing experience.
I have fly fished for over 30 years in the western United States and in the last 10 years extensively in the Patagonia region of South America, and I’ve made two trips to New Zealand. My experience with you in Tassie stands out as my best by far to date.
Your expertise and your gentlemanly manner had a great deal to do with the outcome, but it wouldn’t have turned out the way it did without the amazing Tassie trout and streams.
I found the fish abundant and the wide variety of streams made for a new adventure each and every one of the six days we fished. I got to begin to understand the “stalking for trout” that is so much of the Tasmanian experience.
We did pretty well with weather but we still had wind to deal with. The diversity of the terrain and number of streams made it possible to have a great flyfishing experience on even the windiest day, which turned out to be one of the best. Your knowledge of which stream to pick for each condition of the day helped to make the weather work for us.
The people and communities of Tasmania also made for a memorable experience. Everyone we met was welcoming and the meals we ate at local restaurants were first class, as was the wine.
I was surprised to find that communities near to where we fished in the central highlands had an Irish countryside appeal. And the small bakery in Ross was one of the best I’ve ever encountered. I particularly enjoyed the fresh sourdough rolls we picked up most mornings for our daily streamside sandwiches.
My dilemma in all this is that I’ve come to love Patagonian fishing and I’ve made dear friends there too.
I’ll now have to work in Tasmania to my routine.
Kind regards, Tom Esgate

Just a quick note to thank you once again for the marvelous time spent in your company last week. You have been a most gracious host and I thought you offered a product right from the top drawer!
I was particularly impressed with your knowledge of, and enthusiasm for Tasmania. I think the lure of the island has lodged firmly in my thoughts!
You managed in three days to show us the wide diversity of the fishing on offer. Pity the trout didn’t cooperate as we would have hoped, but I think I’ve been around the pond enough times to recognise and acknowledge difficult and trying conditions when I see it.
I hope to share more time with you in future and plan to visit Tasmania often.
Tight lines and singing reels for the rest of your season!
Fond Regards, Lumart
Roger, Many thanks for the very enjoyable and productive day on Saturday, it was a day to remember, good company, good trout and great to be on the pristine river, so much to enjoy.
Hope to do another trip in the future and will be in touch.
Cheers, Jack Speirs

Red Tag Tours is GREAT! Roger is an excellent host and an even better teacher, and with our novice group of four he had his hands full.
At the end of the day, we all netted fish and due to Roger’s tutelage, Ana nearly had a successful trifecta.
In addition, Roger’s selection at Currawong Lakes was both appropriate and beautiful. Can’t wait until the next trip!
Dear Roger, thank you so much for the wonderful day we had out recently and for introducing me to the art of fly fishing.
I had one of the most enjoyable days I have had in years.
Your ability as a guide and a host is truly outstanding.
I have started getting my own gear together and look forward to having a go on my own but also look forward to spending another day with you soon.
cheers Sean
